The meaning of Toi Ohomai is “aim high and achieve great heights; to be awakened by learning” Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology (Toi Ohomai) was formed on 1 May 2016 as the result of a merger between Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and Waiariki Institute of Technology. Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is the largest tertiary provider in the Bay of Plenty and the third largest institute of technology in New Zealand. Currently, there are over 14,000 students, over 1,000 staff at To Ohomai and they offer over 150 different programmes ranging from Certificate to Postgraduate level. Toi Ohomai has five main campuses in Rotorua, Taupo, Tauranga, Tokoroa, and Whakatane and conducts programmes from more than 68 delivery sites around the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato.
It is inspirational to have one of our own (Sri Lankan) students who graduate from Toi-Ohomai, to be now employed as an International Relationship and Education Adviser at the same institute. Nirosh Wijesinghe (International Relationship and Education Adviser) will be in Sri Lanka and Pro X New Zealand Ltd is privileged to host him for a Free Information morning at our partner’s - New Zealand Academic Centre (NZAC) office in Colombo. You will also be able to listen to a Wellington based New Zealand Licenced Immigration Adviser – Asoka Weerasundara (Licence number 201301161) who will participate via Skype to give a perspective of the latest New Zealand Immigration out comes. We endeavour to keep the participants to a maximum of 12 in order to give everyone the opportunity to meet Nirosh or Asoka and discuss their specific needs on a one-on-one basis. Hence attendance is by invitation only.
