The meaning of Toi Ohomai is “aim high and achieve great heights; to be awakened by learning” Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology (Toi Ohomai) was formed on 1 May 2016 as the result of a merger between Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and Waiariki Institute of Technology. Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is the largest tertiary provider in the Bay of Plenty and the third largest institute of technology in New Zealand. Currently, there are over 14,000 students, over 1,000 staff at To Ohomai and they offer over 150 different programmes ranging from Certificate to Postgraduate level.
